Unqualified Nursery Assistants
Nursery assistants play a crucial role in supporting qualified staff and creating a stimulating environment for children.
At Nexter we need:
- Minimum 3 months experience in nurseries, or
- Working towards a recognised nursery qualification
- A passion for working with children & getting down on their level to make sure they learn, develop and have a great time at nursery
Qualified Nursery Assistants, Nurses and Practitioners
Nursery practitioners take on a more prominent role, directly caring for children and planning activities that promote their learning and development. To become a nursery practitioner, you'll typically need:
· CACHE / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or equivalents

Leadership and Management: Nursery Manager
Nursery managers oversee the smooth running of the nursery, ensuring the well-being of both staff and children. This senior role usually requires:
- Level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent): Demonstrates a strong foundation in childcare knowledge.
- A leadership and management qualification is preferable: Equips you with the skills to manage staff, lead a team, and ensure the nursery operates effectively.
- Experience: Many nurseries will seek candidates with at least 2 years of deputy manager experience so they are ready for the next stage
